We’re incredibly proud to announce that Aberdeen-based software company COMET has come on board as the official sponsor of our debut event: “Auld Pals: An Evening with the Stars of Still Game” at Aberdeen Music Hall.
With more than 1,200 tickets already sold and only a handful remaining, the show is on the brink of selling out, and it means the world to us that a globally respected Aberdeen business believes in what we’re building.
At Black Tartan, we’re doing events differently.
It’s all about making live events more accessible, enjoyable, and fan-first.
From day one, our founders Johnny Brooks and Alan Soutar committed that Black Tartan shows would prioritise local people and businesses. Our technicians, suppliers, caterers and partners come from the cities where we host events because when we bring a show somewhere, that community should benefit directly.
That philosophy extends to sponsorship too.
We only work with one sponsor per show. No clutter, no product placement, no corporate noise. Instead, we collaborate with a partner who genuinely believes in both the event and the audience.
That’s exactly why COMET are the perfect fit.
Founded in Aberdeen and trusted by organisations around the world, COMET helps companies learn from incidents and prevent repeat failures through intelligent incident investigation & RCA software.
Alan Soutar, co-founder of Black Tartan said
“For me, as a working firefighter, it’s seriously cool that a company who are dedicated to reducing risks and improving safety have chosen to work with us. I get that it may not sound totally glamorous or showbiz, but speaking as someone that literally puts out fires and deals with accidents firsthand, I’d say anything that can prevent more is a worthy ally to Black Tartan.”

Thanks to their support, we’ve been able to add a few extra surprises for fans on the night. Making what is already a special reunion for the cast of Scotland’s most beloved show even more memorable.
“COMET is delighted to sponsor “Auld Pals” an evening with the fantastic cast of Still Game – a show that fast became a National Institution! We welcome them to Aberdeen where Tam will love our generosity, Bobby will revel in our banter, and Isa will have a great time chatting to the fish wifies down at Fittie! Still Game really is Scotland at its creative best, well done to Black Tartan for bringing the cast together in Aberdeen, and thank you to our wonderful customers enjoying what will be a wonderful evening of laughter with us!“
Mark Rushton, CEO of COMET
